Tsavo West National Park is full of stars you want to get in front of your lens. From the Big Five to the big stars of the flora and fauna – you’ll meet them all when discovering the national park itself and the unique Mzima Springs.
With over 13,000 square kilometres, Tsavo East National Park is huge, impressive, and, since it was founded in 1948, old. Cruise the outstretched savannah of the Yatta Plateau with its large groups of red elephants, and observe some of the last remaining supertuskers and maneless lions. Listen to the famous story of the man-eating lions, while keeping your eyes peeled for an amazing amount of other animals; four of the Big Five (minus rhinos) together with dik-diks, zebras, giraffes, yellow baboons, cheetahs, African wild dogs, elands, gazelles, gerenuks, hyenas, jackals, and over 500 species of birds!
It’s time to hit the road. Either take a nap or staya glued to the window, watching the magnificent Kenyan landscape pass by. Once on the beach, you either stay in Diani Beach or cross the water to explore the astonishing Diani See Loadge.
Stretching along Kenya’s Indian Ocean coast like a ribbon of brilliant white, Diani Beach is a gorgeous setting for a beach holiday. Against the backdrop of forests echoing with the sounds of wildlife, it offers clear blue waters, white palm fringed beaches, and many watersports activities. Here you can swim along sandbanks, snorkel among colourful reefs, dive in deep sea canyons, or try out kitesurfing or supping. And for those in need of a dash of culture, the vibrant city of Mombasa is not far away!
It’s now time to rest by the ocean! After your last game drive in Tsavo East National Park, you hop on the road to reach the outstretched and white beaches of Diani, the perfect location for beach holidays. Longing for a tropical island retreat? Then step it up to platinum and stay on Diani See Loadge just off the coast, it offers an amazing design hotel that pampers to all your needs.
Leave the busy Diani Beach, hop into a traditional wooden sailboat called ngalawa and head for an amazing sandbank in the Indian Ocean. Here you get to admire the clear blue sea and enjoy the beautiful view of Diani Beach from this stretch of sand that only becomes a paradisiac island at low tide. What to do on this hidden gem? Go snorkelling and make new fish friends or simply soak up the sun, swim, eat, repeat.
